I finished my education at Cowbridge Grammar School for Boys in 1973, wandered aimlessly for a while before settling into work which turned into my long-term career in banking and financial services. This ended in 2003 before working for another 8 years in advisory and consultancy work, mainly in project management, information management and security, and business continuity management - all the things most organisations need but can't be asked to do properly!
I moved out of the family home in 1974, and set up home with the woman who was to become my wife, Bobby, and after several years of renting, bought our first house on the S. Wales coast in 1982. This gave me the ability to build my first proper observatory.
Retired in August 2011-that’s one ambition achieved!
I am now getting down to enjoying astronomy and more appreciation of the countryside, taking long walks and generally taking it easy!
